Eastern Suburbs Shopfitters (inc AB Partitions), was formed by us, John and Angelo Andrew (Andritsakos), 20 yrs ago and incorporated in 1989. From our Cabinetmaking and Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeships, we have developed and specialised in shop and office fitouts and joinery from the beginning. Starting from minor jobs to the much larger projects.
Our office and factory is located at Botany in Sydney, where we manufacture custom built joinery and cabinets. We currently have 8 fulltime employees in our workshop and also have our various and well experienced sub-contracting teams of designers, carpenters, plasterers, electricians, tilers, painters, plumbers, stainless steel engineers, etc, for complete and total site fitout works. Much of our work is by word of mouth, which speaks for itself in regard to our reputation and reliability. Our service is second to none and our commitment solid.
In the early years, most of our work was for either the State or Federal Governments, especially at defence level. These departments include: Workcover Authority, Dept of Industrial Relations, RTA, TAFE, UTS, Dept of Public Works, Corrective Services (Long Bay Jail and the Parole Board), Australia Post. Also a large number of Defence offices in the Coroneos Building, Wentworth Ave Sydney.
Work for these departments consisted mainly of office fitouts. These included all types of partitioning, ceilings, floor and wall finishes, air conditioning, sprinkler, plumbing and tiling works. Joinery items included, sales and reception counters, work stations, wall panelling and lift lobby linings, general office joinery: work benches, storage cabinets, coat cupboards, filing cabinets, kitchenettes, etc. We were also trusted to work in the most secure areas of our defence dept, encrypting rooms, communications centre, the command centre for the entire eastern seaboard of Australia.
Our business has grown on its own, and in recent years, has taken on larger and more commercial fitout projects. Some of our major clients have been, and some still are, Ansett Airlines, ABI Group, Meriton, the Oxford and My House store chains.
We recently applied for and achieved Endorsed Supplier status with the Federal Department of Finance and Administration. This allows us to be submitted on the government purchasing officers directory where they can view our credentials, and contact us for our services.
